How Your Sinuses Can Hurt Your Teeth and Jaw

Many people that suffer from teeth or jaw pain have issues with their teeth or their jaw that needs correcting, but not all of them. In some instances, the reason that you're suffering from this pain is actually due to your sinuses and issues with them.

If you are frequently suffering from pain in your gums or your teeth themselves, but dentists and oral specialists can't seem to find anything wrong with your mouth, consider that the problem may be with your sinuses instead.

Sinus Pressure Can Lead to Oral Discomfort

The sinuses are located right near the jaw and the mouth in general. It's no wonder that sinus problems can often lead to jaw pain, and tooth discomfort.

Understanding the connection between the sinuses and the mouth can help you make more informed decisions about how to treat the issue. In some instances when the sinuses become inflamed, clogged or swollen you may experience mouth discomfort.

Getting medication to treat those issues may be all that you need to do to fix your mouth discomfort as well. Unfortunately, this isn't something that you can determine without expert help and an evaluation period. That's why we encourage everyone suffering from tooth or jaw pain to come into our office to seek help.

If you are suffering from pain in your mouth or jaw regularly, we urge you to come in for a visit so we can try and determine what your problem may be. While there's a chance we won't be able to correct your tooth or jaw pain if it's sinus related, we can point you in the direction of a specialist that can help you, and more importantly we can rule out any mouth-related causes that could be leading to your discomfort.

If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment, please call us at (303) 422-2990 today.

"Had an overall great experience with Dr. Ryan. The staff was very courteous and professional. Most important, the work they did, (two implants, to hold lower dentures) was very secure and I'm free of the hassle and pain. I was concerned at first but he answered all my questions and the whole procedure went well. I definitely would recomend them if you need that type of work done. 2 thumbs up!"

"The office is well run. Everyone I had contact with was friendly and knowledgeable. Procedures were explained and all questions answered. Oral surgery can be an intimidating proposition, but Dr. Ryan and his staff are sensitive to that by providing excellent pain management and results."
