COVID-19.

If you don't feel well, or have been around another who has been sick and may be carrying COVID-19 or any number of other illnesses, please don't come in.

We understand that due to recent closures (of schools, universities, etc.) some of you may have child care concerns that may make it difficult to keep already scheduled appointments. Please call our office ta 303-422-2990 to reschedule your care. There will be no cancellation fees for changing your appointment for any reason during this unusual situation.

When Breathing Becomes Obstructed During Sleep, Your Oral Surgeon Can Help

Posted on 7/30/2017 by Dr. Ryan
Sleep better again by contacting Mountain Oral Surgery and Dental Implant Center.
Obstructive sleep apnea is not a diagnosis people want, but it is also not one to fool around with. You need to take it seriously, as it can make it difficult to sleep, and it can make it to where you struggle to breathe all night long, causing other potential problems. If you were recently diagnosed with this disorder, it is important that you go in and see your oral surgeon. They can help bring about a measure of relief, and lower the chances of something dire happening while you sleep.

What Oral Surgeons Can Do to Help with Sleep Apnea

When you go in and see your oral surgeon following the diagnosis of sleep apnea, they can look at your mouth and the top part of your throat. They can often determine which part of your soft palate is causing the obstruction and give you a treatment option that may relieve the obstruction.

They can also give you some of the standard options that most doctors and dentists recommend while trying to treat sleep apnea. These include sleeping on your side, sleeping elevated about 45 degrees, and losing weight if that is part of the problem. These will all work with the treatment your oral surgeon would recommend, and could help you feel better faster.

Don't struggle with the symptoms of sleep apnea on your own. They can be managed and treated with the help of your oral surgeon. They know how to help you keep your symptoms in check, and what to do to keep yourself breathing effectively all night long. Work with them to figure out how to best manage your symptoms, and to determine what type of treatment is going to work best for your specific situation. If you have any questions, or if you would like to learn more, please call us today at (303) 422-2990.

WHY OUR PATIENTS &
REFERRING DOCTORS LOVE US

"Had an overall great experience with Dr. Ryan. The staff was very courteous and professional. Most important, the work they did, (two implants, to hold lower dentures) was very secure and I'm free of the hassle and pain. I was concerned at first but he answered all my questions and the whole procedure went well. I definitely would recomend them if you need that type of work done. 2 thumbs up!"

"Best doc we have ever been to. My son felt safe and relaxed with him and his staff."
~ George G.

"The office is well run. Everyone I had contact with was friendly and knowledgeable. Procedures were explained and all questions answered. Oral surgery can be an intimidating proposition, but Dr. Ryan and his staff are sensitive to that by providing excellent pain management and results."
~ Lisa S.
